What place do you plan on visiting?
The most essential step to planning this itinerary is finding out where you plan on going. Is it another state, within your state, or overseas? Once you discover a place, decide who you expect to invite.
How many people are going?
Next, determine who is traveling with you. Let people know when you want them to finalize their decision so you can create an ideal budget.
Where do you plan on staying?
Find hotels on sites like Expedia, hotels.com, or look on Airbnb. Look at some of the price points and decide the optimal price. People might want an inexpensive hotel to save money, pay slightly extra for comfort, or invest a lot of money for additional amenities. It depends on what people are willing to spend and the location of these properties.
Deals
Check for any deals or specials for hotels, food, and flights. Sometimes, deals on the weekend or during special events occur. Research a few deals to see what you can save money on.
Food
For the food, determine how many restaurants you want to try. I suggest finding at least two places to try for each day. I looked up restaurants in the area before looking at hotels. The last part of the itinerary is the budget.
Budget
Formulate a budget you are willing to spend on the trip. Include the cost of food, hotel, transportation, attractions, and shopping. Check the prices of restaurants and attractions beforehand to get a rough idea of the budget. Calculate the total your party might spend on the trip.
